Lyrics of “Up the Scale”
This is a song that I hum and I sing
when I bring myself right on up the scale.
And it is the truth, oh, for sooth,
that it isn’t the song but it’s me
that goes up that scale.
When I’m a’down, I decide not to frown
but to smile and a’sing it right from the heart!
And its’ more than miracle, decide you’re up here
and you’ll see you’ve got wings
and you’re up the chart.
This is a song that I hum and I whistle
when I sing myself right on up the scale.
We bypass fear — and my dear, who needs fear? —
and we find ourselves soaring with open sail.
If I’m a’down, I decide, no frown
but a’giggle and sing it right from the heart!
And it is the truth, yeah, for sooth,
that it isn’t the song that makes me but it’s me makes the art.
I am my art.
You are your art.
We are our art.
I am my art.
You are your art.
We are art.
The old man said “Be!” Just be, you’ll see
it’s so easy when you bring yourself uptone.
Why waste all the fun? C’mon everyone,
make it simple and put yourself in that zone.
Now if I’m down I decide to admire it
and that admiration soars me upscale!
And gone is the tear, it’s affection up here,
and I whistle a tune with a happy tale.
